Während des Einsatzes beim Großbrand in der Sternenfelser Straße am Montagabend, 30.01.23 wurde die Einsatzleitung um 21.36 Uhr von der integrierten Leitstelle Karlsruhe über einen weiteren Einsatz informiert. Im Lembergerweg im Wohngebiet auf dem Gänsberg oberhalb des Brandobjekts meldete eine Bewohnerin eine starke Rauchentwicklung im Gebäude. Sie vermutete, dass der Brandrauch von der Sternenfelser Straße ins Gebäude gedrückt wurde.

Umgehend wurde eine Mannschaft zur Erkundung bzw. Nachschau aus dem laufenden Einsatz herausgelöst. Nach dem Eintreffen an der Einsatzstelle und der Lageerkundung konnte festgestellt werden, dass es sich bei der Rauchentwicklung wohl um einen bereits wieder erloschenen Kaminbrand gehandelt hatte. Das Untergeschoss des Wohnhauses war noch leicht verraucht und teilweise verrußt. Zur Überprüfung wurde ein Schornsteinfeger angefordert. Bei der Kontrolle mit der Wärmebildkamera konnte keine Gefahr mehr erkannt werden, so dass keine weiteren Maßnahmen mehr notwendig waren.

Im Einsatz waren hier sechs Kräfte der Abteilungen Oberderdingen und Großvillars unter der Leitung von Zaisenhausens Kommandant Erik Stephan mit dem Mannschaftstransportwagen MTW aus Großvillars und die Polizei mit zwei Beamten und einem Streifenwagen. Einsatzende war gegen 22.30 Uhr. Danach kehrte die Mannschat wieder zur ursprünglichen Einsatzstelle zurück.
