Am frühen Sonntagabend, 18.05.25 wurde die Feuerwehr Oberderdingen von Bewohnern eines Mehrfamilienhauses um Hilfe gebeten, da sich ein großer Bienenschwarm am Dach des Hauses niedergelassen hatte und sich auch Allergiker unter den Bewohnern befanden.

Über die integrierte Leitstelle Karlsruhe wurde zunächst Kommandant Meffle informiert und Rücksprache kurze Zeit später um 17.38 Uhr die Drehleiter der Abteilung Flehingen und der Einsatzleitwagen der Abteilung Oberderdingen zu einem technischen Hilfeleistungseinsatz in die Langwiesenstraße alarmiert. Außerdem wurde eine örtliche Imkerin zur Unterstützung hinzugezogen.

Der große Bienenschwarm hatte begonnen, sich am Dachvorsprung an der Giebelseite des dreistöckigen Hauses einzunisten. Mit Hilfe der Drehleiter versuchte die Imkerin den Schwarm einzufangen und umzusiedeln, allerdings war die Königin bereits unter der Dampfsperre im Inneren des Daches und konnte ohne eine größere Dachöffnung nicht lokalisiert und somit nicht eingefangen werden, weshalb der Einsatz nach einiger Zeit letztlich abgebrochen wurde. In Rücksprache mit den Bewohnern und der Hausverwaltung wurde auf eine Fachfirma verwiesen.

Im Einsatz waren vier Angehörige der Abteilung Oberderdingen mit dem Einsatzleitwagen ELW 1 und drei Kräfte der Abteilung Flehingen mit der Drehleiter DLA (K) 23/12 sowie eine Imkerin. Einsatzende war gegen 19.00 Uhr.
