06.06.2024 - Hochwasserschutz in der Stadt Oberderdingen: Neubau von Hochwasserrückhaltebecken zum Schutz vor Starkregenereignissen

Nach vielen Jahren der Planung und Abstimmungsgesprächen mit übergeordneten Behörden konnte sowie mit Blick auf die derzeitige Entwicklung des Klimas, den Anstieg der Häufigkeit und der Intensität von Starkregenereignissen wurde das Hochwasserrückhaltebecken Breitwiesen gebaut. Zur Übergabe des neu gebauten Hochwasserschutzrückhaltebeckens begrüßte Bürgermeister Thomas Nowitzki Vertreter des Regierungspräsidiums Karlsruhe, des Landratsamts Karlsruhe, der Planer, der beteiligten Firmen, des Gemeinderats sowie Anwohner.

Wie wichtig der Hochwasserschutz ist, zeigen einmal wieder aktuell die Ereignisse in Teilen Baden-Württembergs und Bayern. Es sind verheerende Bilder von überfluteten Häusern, Straßen und Plätze, die nicht nur die Erinnerungen an das Hochwasser im Saarland und Rheinland-Pfalz, sondern auch an 2013 hervorrufen. Damals im Mai hat ein Hochwasser, größer als das 100- jährliche Ereignis, die Flächen rechts und links des Kraichbachs geflutet, so dass das Wasser bis zu den Nebengebäuden der Weinstraße in Oberderdingen stand und ein immenser Schaden entstand. Die drei Hochwasserrückhaltebecken vor Flehingen am Kraich- Kohl- und Humsterbach konnten die Fluten bis zum Überlauf zurückhalten. Die Gemeinde hatte 2006-2010 rund 2,3 Mio. Euro in den Hochwasserschutz investiert und rund 1,5 Mio. Euro an Förderung erhalten.

Aufgrund der Ereignisse 2013 kam das Verfahren ins Rollen. 2017stimmte der Gemeinderat den Entwurfsplanungen zum Neubau eines Hochwasserrückhaltebeckens im Bereich Breitwiesen und der Erweiterung der bestehenden Hochwasserrückhaltebecken Kraich-, Kohl- und Humsterbach zu. Außerdem beauftragte das Gremium die Verwaltung die Genehmigungsverfahren einzuleiten sowie die Zuschussfähigkeit der Maßnahmen abzuklären.

Nach vielen Gutachten, Berechnungen und Terminen mit dem Landratsamt Karlsruhe wurde im August 2021 der Planfeststellungsbeschluss erteilt. Im Mai 2022 sind die Zuwendungsbescheide bei der Verwaltung eingegangen. Für das Hochwasserrückhaltebecken Breitwiesen wurden Fördergelder in Höhe von 586.000 Euro bewilligt worden.

Durch den Neubau des Hochwasserrückhaltebeckens Breitwiesen konnte ein Stauraum von 24.900 m³ geschaffen werden. Zusammen mit dieser Maßnahme erfolgt der Ringschluss für die Wasserleitung von der Weinstraße mit der Hagenfeldstraße. Mit dem Bau eines Hochwasserrückhaltebeckens in Oberderdingen hat die Stadt für alle bebauten Bereiche einen 100-jährigen Hochwasserschutz erreicht.
